This cake is a chocolate lover’s dream. It’s too much chocolate for me but you could add in some strawberries in the layers to help break it up.
For the cake
1 box of chocolate fudge cake mix
1 package instant Godiva chocolate pudding (3:7 oz)
4 large brown eggs
1 cup of sour cream
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup coconut oil
For the frosting
2 cups of sweat cream butter softened
4 cups of confectioners sugar
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1 tsp. Vanilla extract
4-6 oz semi sweet chocolate
Combine all cake ingredients in a stand mixer and beat on medium for 3 minutes.
Divide batter into two 9 in round pans (greased)
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until done.
In a stand mixer cream the butter, confectioners sugar, and cocoa powder until fluffy about 5 minutes.
Remove cakes from pans and place in the freezer for 10 minutes.
trim off the top of the cake to make it flat.
Add buttercream then too with the other cake.
Apply a crumb coat and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
Decorate as desired with the garnishments.
